Prep track: Waterford, Fort Frye state qualifiers

LANCASTER – Waterford’s Ally Rohrer will be competing in three events at the state meet after her performance in the Ohio Division III regional at Fairfield Union Friday.

According to Coach Scott Miller, Rohrer won the 100 hurdles, was second in the 800, and finished fourth in the 200.

Maddy Sury, Rohrer’s Wildcat teammate, was fourth in the long jump and third in the 800 to qualify for state meet competition.

Fort Fyre’s Kylynn Buchanan and Natalie Hart also advanced to state.

Buchanan will be competing in the pole vault, while Hart will be running the 400 at state.

At the regional, Buchanan cleared the bar in a girls’ school record 9 feet, 6 inches.

Hart covered the 400 distance in a little over a minute, said Cadets’ coach Bobbi Webb. Hart was a leg on the 4×400 relay team and a state qualifier last year.
