Football practice today
Let the two-a-days grind begin.
High School football teams in the Mid-Ohio Valley are scheduled to be on the practice field today. A lot of hard work and preparation is necessary to get ready for the majority of Aug. 30 season openers. At 7:30 p.m. Aug. 31, Warren is tentatively slated to play the Parkersburg Big Reds at Don Drumm Stadium.
Fort Frye, the only school in Washington County to compete in the postseason last year, got off to an early start in workouts on the grid in Beverly last Thursday. The Eric Huck-coached Cadets, who were 8-3 overall in 2012, will be back at it from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, Wednesday and Friday.

Officially it will be a Saturday practice, but for most people…it is Friday August 9 at midnight.
The Warriors will then be having hitting drills and have an intrasquad scrimmage.
Frontier has elected to go with a morning session as it will be practicing from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or noon today. The Todd Bradford-coached Cougars, 4-6 last season, are slated to kick off their fall against visiting Shenandoah in a Pioneer Valley Conference tilt at 7 p.m. Aug. 30.
