Prep boys basketball: Warren routs Jackson, 72-45

JACKSON – Warren snapped a 2-game losing streak Friday night with a 72-45 win over Jackson.

Evan French tallied 31 points and hit six 3-pointers in the contest to lead the Warriors, who improved to 6-3 overall an 2-1 in the Southeastern Ohio Athletic League.

Casey Walker had 16 points to pace the Ironmen, who remain winless on the year at 0-10.

At no point in the contest was Warren behind, but Jackson was pesky in the first half, trailing by just five after after one quarter and eight after two.

The Warriors used a 28-7 third period to pull away from the Ironmen. French recorded half of those points while the Warren defense forced nine turnovers and held Jackson to 3-of-8 shooting in the quarter.

Michael Hall and Andrew Drayer each contributed 14 points for Warren. Reece Patton had six.

Up next for the Warriors will be a rivalry contest against the Mark Duckworth-led Marietta Tigers Tuesday in Vincent.

JV tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
