Warren girls ousted

CHILLICOTHE — Warren led 11-7 at halftime, but couldn’t hold on and lost 36-26 to Chillicothe in a Division II district semifinal Thursday at Southeastern High School.

Osh Brown scored a game-high 21 points for the Cavaliers, who tied the game at 15-all after three and then outscored Warren 21-11 in the final stanza.

The Lady Warriors, who finish the season 20-5, got nine points from Molly McCutcheon and eight from Kate Liston.

Malvern 80, Caldwell 37

MALVERN — Behind the dynamic trio of Tara Tucci, Kelsi Hulit and Jasmine Goldsworthy, the second-seeded Malvern Lady Hornets stung the visiting Caldwell Redskins, 80-37, Thursday to advance to the Division IV Sectional final on Saturday.

“There was nothing I could do to stop Hulit,” Caldwell coach Jodi Schott stated. “We had worked all week to try and stop her, but we couldn’t, and Tucci hurt us with her ‘threes’. I thought our offense worked well early and for us to score 37 points is good, but Malvern is a very good team.”

Hulit led the scoring parade with her 21 points followed by Tucci with a “double-double” of 19 points and 11 rebounds, Goldsworthy with 18 and Leslie with eight counters.

Lexie Weisend paced the Lady ‘Skins with 13 points to go with two assists and two steals, while Cloe Siddle followed with 10 points and Griffith chipped in nine counters.
