Warren falls to Logan

Logan 43, Warren 14

LOGAN — Logan jumped out to a 31-0 halftime lead here Friday on senior night and the Chieftains finished their season at 3-7 following a 43-14 victory against Warren.

The Warriors, who won the fourth quarter by a count of 14-12, finished their campaign at 0-10.

Warren, which had three turnovers, finally dented the scoreboard just five seconds into the fourth quarter when Evan Gandee connected with Tyler Schafer on a 2-yard touchdown strike.

Ronnie Hill added an 8-yard TD run at the 5:29 mark and finished with 14 carries for 33 yards. Teammate Tristan Duffey rushed 11 times for 35 yards while Gandee hit 6 of 12 for 76 yards.

Logan took the lead for good on Preston Yates’ 3-yard scoring run at 4:26 of the first and Sam Hall followed that up with a 36-yard pick-6.

Landon Little also had TD receptions of 20 and 62 yards from Brady Walsh, who finished 6 of 10 for 139 yards and also had a game-high 79 yards rushing.

Shenandoah 50, Caldwell 6

CALDWELL — Shenandoah bounced back from last week’s loss to Fort Frye with a 50-6 drubbing of rival Caldwell Friday night.

The Zeps (8-2) gave up a 36-yard touchdown pass, with Caldwell’s Tanner DeVolld hitting Jacob Steward, to start the game down 6-0.

But Shenandoah scored the final 50 points. Boone Jones led the way offensively, completing 9-of-12 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Hunter Graham and Austin McPeek each had 69 yards on three receptions. Nick Miller was Shenandoah’s leading rusher with 40 yards on eight carries.

Drew Ivey of Caldwell had a game-high 62 rushing yards on 16 carries. DeVolld was 4 for 12 for 54 yards and two interceptions.

St. Marys 20, Ravenswood 10

RAVENSWOOD — St. Marys running back Matt Eichhorn rumbled for two scores along with 213 yards on 17 carries to help the Blue Devils bounce back from a tough loss to South Harrison last week with a 20-10 win over Ravenswood here Friday night.

One week after being held to a season-low in rushing yards, Jodi Mote’s team picked up 289 ground stripes on 36 totes. A solid running attack gained all but 13 of St. Marys’ 302 total yards.

Eichhorn sent the Blue Devils (7-1) to the early advantage on an 80-yard scamper to the scoring box with 5:51 still to play in the opening period.

Jake Greene scored the only touchdown of the game for Ravenswood late in the fourth quarter on a 63-yard run with 11:03 in the fourth to pull his team within 20-10. However, the score proved the only points of the final period.

Kemp Kelly’s team (5-4) managed to outgain the Blue Devils, 327-302.

Both teams return to action at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Ravenswood battles Ripley in “The Battle for the Hatchet.” Meanwhile, St. Marys welcomes in Tyler Consolidated and a high-powered offense.
