Young boy shot in neck in critical condition
WELCH, W.Va. (AP) — Police say a 3-year-old boy in West Virginia was accidently shot in the neck and critically wounded.
News outlets reported the shooting occurred Tuesday at a home in Welch. West Virginia State Trooper First Class J.R. Coburn said two young children were playing with “an unsecured loaded firearm” when one of them was shot in the throat.
Coburn said the wounded boy was transported to a trauma center in Charleston.
Police say an investigation into the shooting continues.
