Ohio Long Rifle Exhibit will be held this Saturday

From staff reports

The Association of Ohio Long Rifle Collectors will hold its 44th annual Ohio Long Rifle Exhibit Saturday and Sunday at the Lafayette Hotel in downtown Marietta.

Public hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults; children age 12 and under admitted free with paying adult.

There will be about 400 Ohio-made muzzle-loading rifles exhibited by private collectors, including plain working rifles as well as fancy brass, silver and ivory inlayed rifles.

The purpose of the exhibit is to provide education to the public about muzzle-loading rifles, their purpose, historical value and the gunsmiths who made them, the association said. AOLRC members may be able to help identify long rifles brought in by visitors. A trading table will be provided where members can offer antique arms and accessories for sale or trade.
