Taste of Parkersburg this Saturday at Bicentennial Park
The 14th annual Taste of Parkersburg will be Saturday, bringing top quality food and wines to downtown Parkersburg.
The event will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. at Bicentennial Park at Third and Market streets, said Wendy Shriver, executive director of Downtown PKB which organizes the event.
Admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door and includes a complimentary Taste logo wine or beer glass for sampling. Once admitted to the event, visitors will purchase $1 tickets that can be used with food or wine vendors at the Taste for specific foods and beverages, ranging from $1 to $5 in value.
Tickets are available online at downtownpkb.com and can be purchased until Friday at the following locations: United Bank on Market Street, Wesbanco on Market Street, First Neighborhood Bank on Emerson Avenue, Parkersburg Brewing Company and The Coffee Bar at the Blennerhassett Hotel. Reserved tables for eight are still on sale while they last and cost $360.
Among the food vendors are Phillippines Best Food; Tampico Mexican Restaurant; Parkersburg Brewing Co.; Chams Lebanese Cuisine; Belair’s Bistro & Catering; Hot Dog Willy’s; The Changed Plate; Brunello Restaurant & Bar; Mulberry Lane Country Store; Camden Clark Medical Center; Aladdin Food Management; Bohio Mexican Grill; El Mariachi – Parkersburg; Holl’s Chocolate; and The Coffee Bar.
The wine vendors so far include: Toscano in Appalachia, Chestnut Ridge, Stone Road Vineyards, Winetree Vineyards, Gallo, Constellation Brands, Delicato, Trinchero, Jackson Family Wines, The Wine Group, Deustch, West Virginia Fruit and Berry and Kysela.
There will be beers from Capitol Distributors, Mountain State Beverage and Spriggs Distributors as well with more than 25 different beers.
Additional vendors may be added before the Taste is held.
This year’s entertainment lineup includes local newcomers Track 9, West Virginia native “Lady D” and Dennis McClung Blues Band, which is returning from last year’s event.
This year’s title sponsor of the Taste of Parkersburg is Justin Raber Attorney at Law. Other sponsors include United Bank, Wesbanco, CareSource, Peoples Bank, WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center, Chapman Printing and the Blennerhassett Hotel.
In addition to the Taste of Parkersburg on Saturday, the Blennerhassett Hotel will host its annual Wine Dinner on Friday evening before the Taste. Originally started as part of Taste of Parkersburg, the Blennerhassett has continued to offer the dinner for the past several years.
The cost is $77 per person for the wine dinner, which will feature Jackson Family Wines this year and will be hosted by Holly Yeager with Mountain State Beverage in Charleston.
