Cortney Renea Barker and Tyler David Korns were united in marriage on Aug. 2, 2014 at The Quality Inn in Marietta at an outdoor ceremony at 4:30 p.m.
The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Darla Barker of Watertown. She is the granddaughter of Fred and Martha Schweikert, Richard Sampson and the late Wanda Sampson. She is a graduate of Waterford High School and a 2013 graduate of Muskingum University. She is now a first-grade teacher in Columbus.
The bridegroom is the son of Sally Korns of New Philadelphia and the late David Korns. He is the grandson of the late Doris and Bill Tucker and Helen and Joe Korns. He is a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and a 2014 graduate of Kent State University. He now works for a mortgage bank in Columbus.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. Shana Huck, friend of the bride, sang before the ceremony.
The bride wore a strapless, beaded, ivory gown with a ruffled train. She carried a cascading bouquet of ivory roses, lilies and royal blue ribbons.
The bridesmaids wore black knee-length dresses with ivory beaded sashes to match the bride’s dress. The flower girls wore ivory dresses.
The maid of honor was Kimberly Barker, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Liz Renner, sister of the groom, Rachael Hartzler, sister of the groom, Rachelle Greenberg, friend of the bride, Shana Huck, friend of the bride, and Riley Schweikert, cousin of the bride.
The best man was Jamal Johnson, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Josh Renner, the groom’s brother-in-law, Jace Hartzler, the groom’s brother-in-law, Josh Jenkins, cousin of the groom, Trenton Bird, friend of the groom, and Cole Schweikert, cousin of the bride.
Flower girls were Ella Schweikert and Savannah Blind and ring bearer was Jaxon Renner.
A buffet dinner and dance by DJ Mobile Jams followed the ceremony.
After a trip to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Gahanna.
