Dedication ceremony for Root Bridge

A dedication ceremony for the historical marker for the Root Covered Bridge will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by a picnic. The bridge is off Ohio 555, just past the seven mile marker.

Beverly Masonic Foundation social

The eighth annual ice cream social benefiting The Beverly Masonic Foundation, Washington County Special Olympics and other charities will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug.13 at Dodge Park in Beverly There will be all-you-can-eat food and ice cream, and donations will be accepted.

There will be free activities for children, along with music and magic provided by Trent Fogle and Dangerous Vision DJ Services and magician Dale Wheeler.

Cutler Center hosts dance classes

Cutler Community Center line dance classes are held from 6 to 7 p.m. Every Monday at the center, 4550 Two Mile Run Road, Cutler. Lessons are free to all; however donations to the Community Center are greatly appreciated.

Memorial 5K Aug. 19 at Fort Frye High

The fifth annual Sergeant Kyle Bankes Memorial 5K will be held Aug. 19 at 8:30 a.m. at Fort Frye High School in Beverly.

Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Register by Aug. 3 to be guaranteed a race T-shirt. The cost is$20 per person to register before the race and $25 the day of the race.

Moth Night Tuesday at refuge center

The third annual Moth Night will begin at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the refuge visitor center at 3982 Waverly Road, Williamstown. Join Dave McShaffrey and Jason White for an evening exploring the wonderful world of moths. This program at the refuge visitor center includes an introduction on moths and spotlight setup for wild moth observation. It will be a great photography opportunity. This program best for ages 8 and up.

All refuge programs are free and open to the public.

Movie Night today at Beverly pool

Movie Night will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. today at the Beverly pool. All paying customers will get one free bag of popcorn. Concession will be available. Admission is $5 and children ages 3 and under are free. Note: Passes are excluded form evening events. In case of inclement weather, check the website and/or Facebook page for rescheduling.
