Police need help identifying body found in river

An unidentified body of a middle-aged Caucasian woman was pulled out of the Muskingum River at approximately 1:45 p.m. today according to Sgt. Ryan Huffman of the Marietta Police Department.

“We need help identifying her,” he said. “If you know of a white middle-aged woman missing, please contact the Marietta Police Department.”

The body was found at the crest of the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers just south of the Historic Harmar Walking Bridge by a Marietta Harbor employee, Huffman said.

“The worker noticed it floating and secured it and contacted us,” he explained.

Anyone with information is asked to contact MPD at 740-376-2007.
