Cemetery inscriptions to be discussed

A cemetery inscription discussion will be held at 11 a.m. April 7 at the Caldwell Public annex. The event is open to those in the community who have a desire to help the Noble County Genealogy Chapter update the cemetery books and walk the cemeteries to see the added stones there. Those interested can help by typing up the existing books to make them digital, by going to the cemetery or by proofreading the typed product. Discussion will also be about symbols and other items found on the tombstones that need to be added to the books.

Open house for YMCA’s Zumwalde

An open house for retiring Marietta Family YMCA CEO Suzy Zumwalde will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at The Adelphia, 203 Second St. There will be appetizers and a cash bar.

Junior vocal recital

on Wednesday

Marietta College’s Ayako Diaz, of Strongsville, will present her junior Vocal Performance recital at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Alma McDonough Auditorium. The recital, which is given in partial fulfillment of the Bachelor of Music in Music Performance degree, is free and open to the public. During this 30-minute recital, Diaz will put her vocal ability on display singing numerous selections from various musical periods from 1685 to1924. She will also be performing in four different languages, including English, French, German and Italian.

Hearing tests Tuesday at O’Neill Center

Ohio Valley Hearing Professionals will be scheduling free hearing tests at the O’Neill Center from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday. Hearing aid cleanings are the first Thursday of every other month and free hearing tests are conducted the first Tuesday every other month. Please call for appointment times, 740-373-3914.

Harmar Hill watch meeting Monday

The next Harmar Hill Neighborhood Watch meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Gold Star Park (formerly Lookout Park). The guest speaker will be Marietta Police Det. Sgt. Ryan Huffman.

Trillium Piano Trio concert April 14

The Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series at Washington State Community College in collaboration with the Washington State Foundation and the Schwendeman Agency, Inc. announce a concert by The Trillium Piano Trio. The concert will be presented at 7:30 p.m. April 14 in Graham Auditorium at WSCC, lat 710 Colegate Drive.

, Marietta, with doors opening at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but seating is limited. This event is sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Mark Nutter.

There will be a special meeting of the Warren Local Schools Board of Education at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Warren Local Administration Office, 220 Sweetapple Road, Vincent, for the purpose of having a work session relating to the Ohio School Facilities construction project.
