Two arrested in threat to school administrator

Staff Report

ST. MARYS — Two Washington County residents were arrested Thursday after an alleged threat to an administrator at St. Marys High School, officials said.

Owen Mason Dornon, 19, and Nicholas Ryan Massey, 18, are facing a felony charge of inciting to violence. They are in the Washington County Jail.

Officers responded to 278 Ridgewood Court Apt. A in Marietta on Thursday in regard to an internet chat group about St. Marys High School, according to a Marietta Police report issued on Tuesday.

Dornon previously attended St. Marys High School and the threat was made toward an administrator, Pleasants County Prosecuting Attorney Brian K. Carr said. The threat involved physical violence, Carr said.

Someone alerted the authorities after hearing of the threats, Carr said.

Washington County Prosecutor Nicole Coil said Tuesday her office would be handling the case since the action that led to the arrest occurred in Washington County.

The suspects have not been arraigned and a preliminary hearing is set for possibly 3 p.m. today, Coil said. Bond won’t be set until the hearing is held, she said.

St. Marys High School Principal Jeff Sole referred questions to the Marietta Police Department and to Carr. A phone message for the superintendent of schools in Pleasants County was not immediately returned.
