Dunn, Brookover awarded Frontier Alumni Association scholarships

For the ninth year in a row the Frontier Alumni Association will be issuing two $500 scholarships to two seniors from Frontier High School.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak the scholarships will not be presented in person at a graduation commencement.

But will be presented to the recipient at the school board office at a later date.

This year the Alumni Association winners of the scholarships are Logan Kyle Brookover and Merlea Dunn.

Logan is the son of Ashley & Todd Brookover of Newport. Logan applied to and was accepted by The Ohio State University and will attend their exercise science program. His goal is to receive a bachelors degree in the exercise science program.

Logan’s ultimate goal is to become a physical therapist.

Merlea is the daughter of Heather Dunn of Newport, Ohio. Merlea applied to and was accepted by The Ohio State University and will attend their visual communications program. Merlea graduated from Frontier High School & Washington State Community College with an associates degree in general science.

Merlea’s goal is to get a bachelors degree in Visual Communications with a minor in Marketing & Advertising.

The Alumni Association plans to award two more scholarships in the 2020-2021 school year. If you will be a senior in the 2020-2021 school year please see the FHS guidance counselor Holly Cunningham (1990 alumna) for additional information or to receive a scholarship application.
