City crews are working this week on lamp posts on Putnam Street. They will next move to Front, Second, Butler, Post and Greene streets to paint the lamp posts downtown.

Then, according to Mayor Josh Schlicher, trash bins, benches and other street furniture will also be refreshed, changing the present green hues to the crisp black.

“We have a team working well right now on it,” said Schlicher. “We’re trying to have it all done by the end of the year.”

Schlicher said then next year the goal will be to revitalize Harmar lamp posts and parts of Third Street where the city owns the lamp posts.
