Chase Bank will shutter Putnam Street branch
No employees will be impacted by the consolidation of two branches of Chase Bank in Marietta.
“Our branch at 125 Putnam St. will consolidate into our branch at 10 Acme St., about 1.5 miles away. This consolidation will occur on Nov. 9,” said Carlene Lule, public relations representative from JPMorgan Chase.
She said sometimes branches are consolidated when another is nearby or if traffic is low.
“This allows us to provide a strong, successful branch network that can serve our community for the long-term.”
Lule said she could not speak for what will happen with the building, but the Washington County Auditor’s office shows it as being owned by Jetlag LLC. The building, as part of five properties, was purchased in July 2018 for $850,000. The company was incorporated in July 2017.
Lule said branches are still important to customers, but they are rapidly adopting new innovations, such as mobile, online and in-branch technologie that allow them to bank whenever and wherever.
“Serving our communities goes beyond branches and banking services,” she said. “We work with community partners and government officials to serve these communities through home and small business lending, job training and opportunities, and philanthropic investment.”
Although Lule was unable to answer about the ATM on Second Street, the ATM on Muskingum Drive will remain open.
