Community Action gives to kids

Washington-Morgan Community Action Program has backpacks filled with school supplies for area children of low-income households for school.

This include pens, pencils, paper, and crayons. Supplies can be provided to children who are attending school virtually due to the COVID- 19 pandemic.

Along with school supplies, Washington-Morgan Community Action has shoes available for young children in a range of sizes (sizes Pre-K to fourth grade) .

Washington County applications will be taken at the Washington-Morgan Community Action offices at 218 Putnam St., Marietta, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Applicants will need:

1. Proof of 30 days of all household income;

2. Proof of residence;

3. Name of school the child;

4. Child’s age.

5. Know Social Security Numbers for all household members.

Since supplies, including shoe sizes, are limited, the completion of an application will not guarantee service.
