Meetings

¯ The Operations Committee of the Warren Local Board of Education will meet at 4:30 p.m. Monday. Both meetings will be held at the Warren Local Administration Office, 220 Sweetapple Road, Vincent.

¯ The Washington State Community College Board of Trustees will hold the monthly meeting at 4 p.m. Monday in the Community Room of the Main Building.

¯ Reno Water and Sewer District will hold a regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the water office, 170 Mount Tom Road. All are welcome. Social distancing will be practiced because of COVID-19.

¯ The board of the Frontier Local Economic Development Association canceled all 2020 regular meetings and the annual meeting due to the pandemic. A schedule for 2021 will be announced in January 2021.

Events

¯ Macksburg United Methodist Church will hold a baked steak and pork tenderloin dinner today. Serving begins at 3 p.m. Meals are carry-out only and the cost is $8. The dinner is sponsored by Macksburg United Methodist Women to help offset expenses at the church and provide local missions.

¯ The Tunnel-Warren Chapel United Methodist Churches will provide free community meals from 5-6 p.m. today. Menu includes beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, diced pears, a dinner roll, dessert, and bottled water. Meals will be served as drive-through pick-ups in the lower parking lot; remain in your car. To reserve a meal, call or text Amy at 740-516-0847 or respond to Tunnel UMC’s Facebook post. Tunnel UMC is located at Ohio 550 and Coffman Road.

¯ Beverly American Legion Post 389 on 5th Street, Beverly, will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5-7 p.m. Friday. The cost is $9 and the meal includes fries and coleslaw. Music to follow by Sam Clark from 7-10 p.m. Public welcome.

¯ St. Mary Catholic School will host a Fish Fry To-Go from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Meals are $10 and include fried fish, french fries, green beans, and coleslaw. Drive thru service only; no call ahead orders. Enter through Marion or Muskingum alley entrances.

¯ River Cities Symphony will present a free virtual performance by clarinetist Chris Bowmaster, violinist Raquel Ravaglioli, and pianist Marie Mallory beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday. To view the concert, visit facebook.com/rivercitiessymphony

¯ Warren Band will hold a Mattress Fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 21. Every mattress purchase benefits the band and includes free sheets. ¯ Lowell American Legion will host a steak fry Nov. 21. Phone orders begin at 4 p.m. by calling 740-896-3326. Serving from 5-8 p.m.; seating very limited. Carry-out requested. Meals include steak, baked steak, chicken or no meat, and salad with dressing, a baked potato, and a roll. Signs will be posted for pick-up.

¯ Dale UM Church has canceled its Annual November Turkey/Ham Dinner due to COVID-19. Donations are appreciated. The Annual Chicken/Ham Dinner is scheduled for spring 2021.

¯ The Zonta Club of the Mid-Ohio Valley has canceled its Fall Unique Boutique Clothing Sale originally scheduled for November due to Coronavirus concerns. All clothing donations can be made at the Spring Sale in 2021. Those who would like to make a monetary donation to the club to help with service projects can mail checks to: Zonta Club of MOV P.O. ¯ The O’Neill Center will host a virtual craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 5 Various vendors will be featured on an exclusive Facebook page and the event will be streamed live via Facebook and Zoom. Vendors will also be donating items for a raffle. For more information, call 740-373-3914.

¯ The Salem Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. is selling tickets as a fundraiser for the following: Browning Primal 23 Gun Safe, 110 Storm 6.5 Creed (red, white, and blue edition), Ruger American 350 Ldg, Glock 19 Gen 5 American edition, Remington 870 express 20 ga/26“, Mossberg 930 3” 12 ga/28″, and a $250 gift card. Must be 21 years of age or older to purchase and must pass a background check. Drawing is Dec. 31 or until all 500 tickets are sold. To purchase, contact any Salem Fire Dept. member.

¯ Members of the board of Armory Square Inc. are selling engraved bricks with the name and rank of the veteran to be placed in the Veterans Walk of Honor or the Community Walk. Applications can be found inside the Armory Visitor Center. Fill out the form and return it to the Marietta Community Foundation at 100 Putnam Street or mail to P.O. Box 77, Marietta, Ohio 45750. ¯ As part of the Marietta Community Foundation’s nonprofit challenge, the O’Neill and Belpre Senior Centers will be collecting new, unwrapped toys Nov. 2-Nov. 16. The toys will be donated to the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. Drop off toys starting Nov. 2 at 333 Fourth St., Marietta, or 1614 Washington Blvd., Belpre. ¯ Washington County 4-H will be participating in Marietta Community Foundation’s nonprofit challenge by collecting new, unwrapped toys through Nov. 17. ¯ Tickets for Hervida 4-H Camp Annual Building Fund Drawing are currently available and the drawing will be held virtually Nov. 14. There will not be a dinner and silent auction. Tickets are $35 and are available at the OSU Extension Office at 202 Davis Ave., Marietta, or from a camp board member by calling 740-376-7431.
