¯ The Board of Directors for the Southeastern Ohio Port Authority will meet at 7:30 a.m. today. This meeting is open via conference call. For call-in information, email info@seohioport.com. Agenda will be provided.

¯ The Marietta City School District Board of Education will hold a special board meeting virtually at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The public is asked to join the meeting on Facebook Live. A link will be provided on the district website. Items to be discussed include: 2021 consolidation update, Marietta Middle School roof, bus routing software and resolutions for levy options for the district.

¯ The Washington County Family & Children First Council Meeting will be held virtually at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Those wishing to participate virtually are asked to contact Cindy Davis at fcfc@suddenlinkmail.com or call 740-376-7081.

COVID-19 observance

First Congregational United Church of Christ will hold a COVID-19 Memorial observance beginning at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. One hundred tea lights will adorn the front steps of the church and chimes will play for 15 minutes. The public is invited to attend observing socially distant precautions. Free breakfast

First Congregational Church United Church of Christ (318 Front St. in Marietta) will continue its weekly free breakfast as take-out from 8:30-10 a.m. each Saturday. All are welcome.

Office closure

The Income Tax and Treasurer’s office is currently closed to the public until further notice. A drop box is located in front of the building. All taxpayers with a prearranged agreement should call the office at 740-373-4032 between the hours of 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. for further assistance or with any questions.


Washington County Auditor Matthew Livengood has begun the process of a state-mandated reappraisal of all properties. There will be appraisers visiting properties throughout the county through the end of 2021. New values resulting from the reappraisal will go into effect Jan. 1, 2023, and will be payable on the 2024 tax bills.
