¯ The Marietta City School District Board of Education will hold its organizational meeting at 10 a.m. today. This meeting will be virtual/in-person and will be held at 111 Academy Drive. The Marietta City School District Board of Education special board meeting will immediately follow. Discussion will include: resignations, IRS mileage, building and grounds position and negotiations/HSA contributions.
¯ The Fort Frye Local School District Board of Education will hold an organizational meeting at 5 p.m. today at Lowell Elementary, 305 Market Street.
¯ The organizational meeting of the Board of Education of the Warren Local School District will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the Administration Building, 220 Sweetapple Road, Vincent. The Board’s January regular meeting will follow immediately.
¯ Palmer Township will hold its January meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Palmer Township Community Building with the organizational meeting to follow.
¯ Reno Water and Sewer District will hold its regularly scheduled board meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 19 in the Reno Water office, 170 Mount Tom Road. The public is welcome to attend. Safe distancing will be practiced and masks are requested.
¯ Beverly American Legion Post 389 on 5th Street will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5-7 p.m. Friday. The meal costs $9 and includes fries and coleslaw. Music by Sam Clark to follow from 7-10 p.m. Public welcome.
¯ The Tunnel-Warren Chapel United Methodist Churches will provide free community meals from 5-6 p.m. Jan. 14. The menu includes chili or vegetable beef soup, crackers, bread, fruit, dessert, and bottled water. Meals will be served as drive-through pick-ups in the lower parking lot; remain in your car. ¯ First Congregational Church United Church of Christ (318 Front St. in Marietta) will continue its weekly free breakfast as take-out from 8:30-10 a.m. each Saturday. All are welcome.
¯ The Income Tax and Treasurer’s office is currently closed to the public until further notice. A drop box is located in front of the building. All taxpayers with a prearranged agreement should call the office at 740-373-4032 between the hours of 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. for further assistance or with any questions.
¯ Washington County Auditor Matthew Livengood has begun the process of a state-mandated reappraisal of all properties. There will be appraisers visiting properties throughout the county through the end of 2021. New values resulting from the reappraisal will go into effect Jan. 1, 2023, and will be payable on the 2024 tax bills.
