¯ The monthly board member meeting of the Franciscan Meals will be held at noon Thursday at Shoneys in Marietta. Members may show up at 11:30 a.m. for lunch before the meeting. The discussion will continue on volunteers and deliveries of meals.
¯ Reno Water and Sewer District will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Friday to discuss the increases of water and sewer rates from the City of Marietta. The regularly scheduled board meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 19. Both meetings will be held at the Reno Water office, 170 Mount Tom Road. The public is welcome to attend. Safe distancing will be practiced and masks are requested.
¯ The Tunnel-Warren Chapel United Methodist Churches will provide free community meals from 5-6 p.m. Thursday. The menu includes chili or vegetable beef soup, crackers, bread, fruit, dessert, and bottled water. Meals will be served as drive-through pick-ups in the lower parking lot; remain in your car. ¯ First Congregational Church United Church of Christ (318 Front St. in Marietta) will continue its weekly free breakfast as take-out from 8:30-10 a.m. each Saturday. All are welcome.
¯ Knights of Columbus 4617 in Churchtown, Ohio will sell take-out meals for the Super Bowl Feb. 7. The meal costs $12 and includes one pound of pulled pork, baked beans, and coleslaw. ¯ The Income Tax and Treasurer’s office is currently closed to the public until further notice. A drop box is located in front of the building. All taxpayers with a prearranged agreement should call the office at 740-373-4032 between the hours of 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. for further assistance or with any questions.
¯ Washington County Auditor Matthew Livengood has begun the process of a state-mandated reappraisal of all properties. There will be appraisers visiting properties throughout the county through the end of 2021. New values resulting from the reappraisal will go into effect Jan. 1, 2023, and will be payable on the 2024 tax bills.
