¯ A deputy began an investigation Saturday into a firearm violation. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A deputy began an investigation Sunday into catalytic converter(s) being removed from vehicles in the Adams Township area. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A deputy was on patrol Sunday and observed a traffic violation on Acme Street, Marietta. A check through dispatch revealed the Ohio registration was not for the vehicle the deputy was pursuing. A traffic stop was attempted at the 400 block of Acme Street. The operator of the vehicle pulled into the Kroger Shopping Center, circled the gas station and sped off, eventually traveling north on Acme Street.

The deputy pursued the vehicle and was pacing the vehicle at a rate of speed higher than the posted 25 mph zone. The vehicle also went left of center several times. The vehicle continued on without stopping, running the red light at Acme Street and Greene Street. The vehicle drove onto the sidewalk and struck a fire hydrant (breaking the hydrant) stopping on a retaining wall just before a residence. A male subject rolled out of the vehicle and indicated he had several outstanding warrants. The deputy met with the driver, Zachary K. Blum, who was placed under arrest. A search of the vehicle was conducted and two plastic straws with discolored residue and one suspected Gabapentin pill were taken as evidence. Blum, 31, of 220 Tileston Ave., Lot 16, Zanesville, was transported to the Washington County Jail on outstanding warrants, speed, driving under suspension, fictitious license plate, operation in willful or wanton disregard of the safety of persons, muffler violation, operating without being in reasonable control of a vehicle, fleeing and eluding, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

¯ A sergeant began an investigation Monday in the area of Ridgewood Boulevard in reference to vehicles being entered and items removed. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A deputy began an investigation Monday into an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle report in Waterford Township. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A deputy began an investigation Monday into a 2019 Carry On trailer being removed from 45 McCutcheon Lane, Wesley Township. This case remains under investigation.

¯ On Tuesday, a deputy began an investigation into damaged equipment owned by New River Electric. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A lieutenant was dispatched Tuesday to 677 Congress Road, Belpre, to meet with Joey J. Parks in reference to a breaking and entering. This case remains under investigation.

¯ Deputies began an investigation Tuesday into a breaking and entering reported by Travis Westfall. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A deputy responded Wednesday to the 27000 block of Ohio 7, Marietta, to a report of criminal damaging. A report of a car window being broken was made to the deputy. It was reported that the damage was done by Donald R. Gregor. The deputy met with Gregor and as a result of the investigation, Gregor, 48, of 27335 State Route 7, Lot 13, Reno, was placed under arrest and charged with criminal damaging.

Arrests/Washington County

The following individuals were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:

¯ Faith Nicole Chichester, 33, of 81 Farr St., Petroleum, W.Va., was arrested for breach of recognizance and aggravated possession of drugs, both felonies.

¯ David Wayne Wriston, 36, of 683 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, was arrested for two counts of driving under suspension, fictitious plates, tail lights and illumination of rear plates violation, all misdemeanors.

¯ Madison Marie Brant, 19, homeless, was arrested for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor.

¯ Thomas Logan Beekman Jr., 43, of 1770 Fairview Road, Bidwell, was arrested for three counts of contempt of court.
