Waterford High evacuated for bomb threat

Waterford High School was evacuated after a bomb threat was made around 1:45 p.m. today from a male caller.

Chief Deputy Mark Warden of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were on scene with the county’s bomb dog.

Dogs from Ohio University also were called in and the sheriff’s department was waiting on a call from Muskingum County, Warden said.

Text notices also went out to parents in the Fort Frye School District. The elementary and high schools are on lock down as a safety precaution, which will likely last until dismissal.
