Memorial Health System signs multi-year contract with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio and Memorial Health System have renewed a multi-year contract.

The renewal extends the contract through September 2025, ensuring Anthem’s members in the Mid-Ohio Valley will retain in-network health plan benefits with the regional health system for years to come.

Of Memorial Health System’s patient base, 12% are Anthem members, many of whom utilize the health system for its care, including primary care annual visits, emergency care and specialty services such as neuroscience, oncology and cardiology treatment.

With the contract extension, Memorial can continue serving surrounding communities, treating the most prominent health concerns while patients have access to affordable healthcare.

“We are pleased this extended contract will give Memorial Health System patients stability and access to our integrated network,” Scott Cantley, president & CEO of Memorial Health System, said. “As this community’s health system, we want to ensure the greatest access, experience and highest-quality care for everyone.”

The long-term agreement assures Mid-Ohio Valley consumers will continue to have affordable access to quality healthcare, said Jane Peterson, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio.

“We’re excited to extend our partnership with Marietta Memorial as we work together to serve this community,” Peterson.
