One killed in Belpre Township accident
The Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night on Ohio 618 at Ohio 339 in Belpre Township where one person was killed.
A preliminary investigation shows a 2016 Toyota RAV4 driven by Joyce Strohl, 69, of Morgan County was south on Route 339. A 1998 Buick Century driven by Ashtyn Davis, 22, was west on Route 618, the patrol said. The Toyota RAV4 failed to yield at a stop sign on 339 at 618 and was struck by the Buick Century, the patrol said.
Both drivers were taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital, Belpre Campus. Strohl sustained fatal injuries from the crash. Davis sustained non-life threating injuries from the crash, the patrol said.
The accident happened shortly before 9 p.m., the patrol said.
