From staff reports

The Outreach Board of First Congregational United Church of Christ is celebrating the fourth year of its free community breakfast.

The board provides a free take-out meal to all who need it each Saturday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the church, 318 Front St., Marietta.

The breakfast started as a dine-in meal offered monthly in 2019 and expanded to a weekly offering when the pandemic hit in 2020. The free meal is served to more than 100 each week.

The service is supported by the Marietta Community Foundation, the Marietta Welfare League, the Heartland Conference of the United Church of Christ and private donations.

During the past school year, students from the McDonough Leadership Program at Marietta College provided much needed assistance.

During July, the meal will be served on the first, second, fourth and fifth Saturdays.
