VIENNA — The Vienna Public Library Monday evening held its annual Library Trick or Treat.
This year’s theme was the Worlds of Roald Dahl, a popular children’s author.
Staff members joyfully portrayed their favorite Dahl characters from stories such as “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,”“The Fantastic Mr. Fox,”“Matilda,”“The Witches” and “James and the Giant Peach. More than 100 costumed kids played Wonka-themed games, explored the library decorated as scenes from each book and enjoyed Halloween candy provided by the Friends of the Vienna Public Library.
“Library staff plan for months and work hard to provide the community of Vienna a safe, fun and family-friendly experience for trick or treat each year and we are already thinking of next year’s event,” said Brenna Call, director of Library Services. “It might be our favorite event of the whole year.”
