Washington County Behavioral Health Board committee meeting

The Washington County Behavioral Health Board Program Planning and Oversight committee meeting will be held at 5:15 p.m. Nov. 7. All interested members of the public are welcome and encouraged to come. For more information, contact the Washington County Behavioral Health Board at (740) 374-6990.

OneOhio Region 12 committee meeting

The next regular meeting of the OneOhio Region 12 Committee will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 1400 Pike St., Marietta. The purpose of this meeting is to establish the 2025 timetable for Region 12. Events

Election Day soup and sandwich luncheon

The First Presbyterian Church of Marietta will hold its annual Election Day soup and sandwich luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. The church is located on the corner of Fourth and Wooster Streets, Marietta, and is handicap accessible. The cost is $7 for a bowl of homemade soup, sandwich, dessert and drink. Proceeds from the lunch will be given to EVE, Inc., our local crisis prevention center.

Election Day Dinner

The Beverly Methodist Church, 700 Park St., Beverly, will have its annual Election Day Dinner from 4:30-6:30 p.m. today. The traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be $12. Carry out will be available by calling 740-984-2100.

Baked steak or pork tenderloin dinner

A baked steak or pork tenderloin dinner will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 at Macksburg Church on Mechanic Street in Macksburg. Carryout dinners only. Meals are $13 and include a full meal and dessert. The dinner is sponsored by the Macksburg Women’s Group. For more information, contact Debbie at 740-568-8940.

Hurricane Christmas Relief Drive

Beverly/Waterford and surrounding communities will be joining together for a Hurricane Christmas Relief Drive at the American Legion in Beverly from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9. Food trucks will be available from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. as well as Big D Karaoke by Deidre from 1-4 p.m. For a full list of what needs to be donated, visit https://tinyurl.com/uuswrphb. Healthy Lungs 5K Run and Walk

The Washington County Health Department will host the free Healthy Lungs 5K Run and Walk at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Indian Acres Park in Marietta. This event is free to the public and people can register by visiting the website https://www.washingtongov.org/844/Tobacco-Free. You may also register the day of the event beginning at 9 a.m.

Clothing giveaway

Gilman United Methodist Church, 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta, will hold a clothing giveaway from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9. Free clothing, housewares, games, shoes, books and more will be available. A take out lunch will also be provided.

Turkey dinner

Pleasant Hill Church, 7243 Stanlyville Road, will hold their annual Turkey Dinner from 4-6:30 p.m. Nov. 9. The menu includes turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, a roll and dessert. Donation are accepted.

United States Marine Corps Birthday Bash

The American Legion Post 389 will host a United States Marine Corps Birthday Bash celebrating 249 years at 6 p.m. Nov. 9, in the Post 389 banquet hall in Beverly. Happy hour will be from 6-7 p.m. Bring a covered dish as there will be a potluck style buffet. A DJ will be providing entertainment, a “beat the dealer” dice table will be open and 50/50 tickets will be sold the day of. 20th Annual Heritage Quilt Show

The 20th Annual Heritage Quilt Show will be held from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 9 through Nov. 17, at the Blennerhassett Museum, 137 Juliana St., Parkersburg. Admission to the museum is $4 for adults and $2 for children 4 through 12. With admission, you can enjoy the historical artifacts in the museum as well as the quilts on display. The theme for this year’s show is “Patriotism”. Categories in the show also include large quilts, small quilts, miniature quilts and antique quilts (not judged). Prizes will be awarded for Overall Best of Show, Best of Show-Hand Quilted, Best of Show-Machine Quilted-Manual, Best of Show Machine Quilted-Computerized, People’s Choice Award, Superintendent’s Choice Award and Best Theme Award. Registration forms are available at the museum or by contacting the museum at 304-420-4800 or Brenda Wentzel at 304-428-3544. At 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, there will also be a program featuring a Quilts of Valor presentation.

Community breakfast

Aurelius Masonic Lodge No. 308 will hold a community breakfast from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 10, at the Lower Salem Community Building. Donations are accepted.

Christian music performance

Christian music artist Mark Bishop will be performing at Little Hocking Church, 20 Federal Rd., Little Hocking at 6 p.m. Sunday Nov. 10.

Classes/Workshops/Seminars

Zumba Classes

Zumba classes will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 11:30 a.m. Monday at the O’Neill Center. The cost is $5 per class or $25 for six classes. All ages welcome. For more information, call 740-373-3914.
