Sprouse graduates from Naval training

PARKERSBURG — U.S. Navy Airman Logan J. Sprouse graduated from Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, in Illinois with a sharpshooter ribbon on Aug. 22.

Born and raised in Parkersburg, Sprouse enlisted at age 17. He volunteered to attend Mountaineer Challenge Academy School to graduate high school early and received multiple certificates there, including a scuba certificate. He then attended Mountaineer Job Challenge, where he received a welding certification.

Sprouse is now attending aviation school in Pensacola, Fla., to become an aviation ordnanceman.

Sprouse attended Parkersburg South High School. When he was younger, he played peewee football for the Godbey Warhawks and wrestled for Vienna. He also played football and wrestled at Van Devender Middle School.
