On Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m., photographer and writer Ian Adams will present an illustrated talk about his newest book “This Place of Silence” at Campus Martius Museum, 601 Second St. in Marietta.

The book is a photographic portrait of Ohio’s cemeteries and burial grounds by Ohio photographers Adams and Randall Lee Schieber with text and photo captions by Robin L. Smith. The authors highlight and showcase these often beautiful but sometimes neglected pieces of history. Cemeteries are not dark, morbid places to be avoided, but historic landscapes that are full of beauty, hope, and honor for those Ohioans who came before us. Copies of the book will be available for purchase after the talk.

The event is organized by the Washington County Public Library and no registration is required. For more information, call the library at 740-373-1057 x606.
