Sheriff’s Office seeking information about thefts in Devola

DEVOLA — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for its help regarding two thefts in Devola.

In a media release Friday, the Sheriff’s Office stated Deputy T. Gainer is asking for the public’s assistance in providing information about two thefts that happened between Nov. 5 and Nov. 6 in Devola, Muskingum Township, at the Marietta Soccer League and the East Muskingum Civil Association which resulted in a total of more than $22,000 of equipment being stolen.

The first crime occurred at the Soccer League field and a John Deere Zero Turn lawn mower was removed, along with a Stihl weedeater and gas can, the release said. The value of these items is over $13,000.

The second crime was committed at the East Muskingum Civil Association property and a Zero Turn John Deere mower and weedeater and gas can were also stolen, the release said. These are valued at over $9,000.
