BELPRE — Belpre City Council approved all three readings of a resolution supplementing Year 2025 appropriations during its regular meeting Monday.

Council will hold its next regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. May 26 despite that Monday being Memorial Day.

A Finance Committee meeting will be 6:30 p.m. May 26. A Rules Committee meeting will be 7 p.m. June 9 to discuss possible changes to council’s meeting time.

Council held an executive session at the end of Monday’s meeting for the purpose of discussing contract bids, and real estate transactions, but took no action after gaveling back in.

Mayor Susan Abdella said there has been a lot of community discussion related to grass mowing or the lack of it on several properties. In addition, the Washington County Water Soil and Conservation District sent a flier to all homes related to grass in storm drains.

Bids will be opened at 3 p.m. Thursday for the city’s trash contract.
