Meetings

¯ The Marietta City School District Board of Education will hold its regular February Board meeting at 6 p.m. today. This will be a virtual meeting and the public is asked to join on Facebook Live. Instructions on how to join and listen in will be on the Marietta City Schools website banner.

¯ The Decatur Township Board of Trustees and representatives from the Little Hocking Vol. Fire Dept. will open Cutler School for a public informational meeting with question/answer format, regarding the EMS Levy on the upcoming May ballot. To maintain social distance recommendations set forth by the state, two meetings will be held consecutively at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. today. To reserve a seat, contact the township at 740-667-3006.

¯ The Reno Water and Sewer District meeting has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday due to inclement weather. The meeting will be held at the Reno Water office building, 170 Mount Tom Road. Public is welcome. Safe distancing will be practiced and masks are requested.

¯ The Board of Directors for the Southeastern Ohio Port Authority will meet at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. This meeting is open via conference call or in-person attendance in the Oak Room, Building 1 in Broughton Complex #1, located at 639 SR 821, Marietta. ¯ The Castle Historic House Museum will present a virtual audience with Queen Victoria from noon to 1:15 p.m. Saturday during a Virtual Victorian Tea. The event will be presented via Zoom and the cost is $10. For more information and to register, visit mariettacastle.org/virtual-history-camp.

¯ The Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church on Stanleyville Road in Whipple will host its annual Italian Feast from 4-7 p.m. Saturday. The meal will be curbside pick-up and include spaghetti, rigatoni, fettuccine, salad, and dessert. To order in advance, call 740-473-2792. Ordering ahead is not mandatory.

¯ Beverly American Legion Post 389 will host a public steak fry from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Post Home 114, Fifth St., Beverly. The cost is $15 and includes steak, a baked potato, salad and a roll.

¯ Knights of Columbus 4617 in Churchtown will hold a Cornhole Tournament Feb. 28. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and tournament begins at noon inside the gym located at 17472 SR 676, Marietta. Cost is $20/team (bring your own partner). Pay out is 80% of entry (first and second). Event includes a concession stand and 50/50. ¯ First Congregational Church United Church of Christ (318 Front St. in Marietta) will continue its weekly free breakfast as take-out from 8:30-10 a.m. each Saturday. All are welcome.

¯ The Marietta Kiwanis Annual Pancake Days event has been canceled for 2021 due to COVID-19. The organization is accepting donations at mariettakiwanisclub.org and checks can be made payable to: Marietta Community Foundation, Kiwanis Club of Marietta, P.O. Box 1111, Marietta, OH 45750.

¯ Fearing Township Vol. Fire Dept. will hold its annual March dinner at 4 p.m. March 20. Menu includes chicken or baked steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, bread and dessert. Coffee and tea are included. Adult plate costs $8 and child’s plate costs $4. Drive-thru or limited socially distanced seating. ¯ The Sardis Vol. Fire Dept. will sponsor its annual fish fry from 4-7 p.m. each Friday through April 2 at the Sardis Fire Hall on State Route 255. The menu includes coleman fish sandwiches and fish sandwich dinners with a choice of fries, coleslaw, baked beans, and mac & cheese. Take-out and limited delivery available; no dine-in.
