¯ Warren Township Trustees will hold its regular business meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday instead of the usual 6 p.m. Bid opening will still begin at 6 p.m.

¯ The Marietta City School District Board of Education will hold its regular March board meeting at 6 p.m. Monday. This will be a virtual meeting and the public is asked to join on Facebook Live. For more information, visit the Marietta City Schools website.

¯ Grandview Township will hold 2021 regular meetings at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the township hall. The following months will be held on different dates: July 6, and Sept. 13. These meetings will also be held at 6 p.m.

¯ Liberty Township will hold 2021 regular monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month.

¯ Decatur Township will hold its monthly public meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at the township building on Welch Road in Cutler.


¯ First Congregational Church United Church of Christ (318 Front St. in Marietta) will continue its weekly free breakfast as take-out from 8:30-10 a.m. each Saturday. All are welcome.

¯ The Sardis Vol. Fire Dept. will sponsor its annual fish fry from 4-7 p.m. each Friday through April 2 at the Sardis Fire Hall on State Route 255. The menu includes coleman fish sandwiches and fish sandwich dinners with a choice of fries, coleslaw, baked beans, and mac & cheese. Take-out and limited delivery available; no dine-in. Masks and social distancing required. To place an order, call 740-483-1048.

¯ St. Mary Catholic School will host a Lenten Drive-thru Fish Fry from 5-7 p.m. every Friday through March 26. The meal includes fried fish, french fries, green beans and coleslaw. The cost per meal is $10. No call ahead orders; drive-thru service only. Enter through Marion or Montgomery alley entrances.

¯ The Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Easter egg hunt will be held April 4. Start times will be based on age to maintain proper social distancing: ages up to 4 at noon; ages 5-8 at 12:30 p.m.; ages 9-12 at 1 p.m. Everyone is required to wear a mask, maintain social distancing, remain in the car until instructed and to not gather after your hunt is over so the next age group can start.


¯ The Marietta Family YMCA will host the Spring/Summer 5K Virtual Series between March and May. Events include Hop To It Race, April 10-16, and Stronger Together Run, May 15-21. For more information and registration, visit mariettaymca.org.

¯ The Career Center’s Adult Technical Training Center will host Industrial Careers Field Day from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 16 at the Washington County Career Center campus in Marietta. The event is free to high school students in Ohio and West Virginia. All participants will be asked to follow COVID-19 safety protocol. ¯ Newport Township will begin the spring clean-up of the cemeteries Monday in preparation for the mowing season.

Cooperation is requested in removing Christmas and deteriorated flowers from the gravesites. Poinsettias and any arrangements that detract from the appearance of the cemetery will be removed at the discretion of the Trustees.

Planting is not recommended and neither the township nor the cemetery caretakers are responsible for damage or loss.

¯ The Annual Financial Report for Muskingum Township for the fiscal year 2020 has been completed and is available for public inspection. An appointment can be made by calling 740-373-0189.
