Meetings

¯ The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Norwood UMC, 23 Colegate Drive, in the lower level meeting room. Parking available the alley between Colegate and Vine Streets; entry to the building is through the kitchen on the left from the parking lot. Visitors welcome. Facility is handicapped accessible. All Covid precautions will be observed.

¯ The Operations Committee of the Warren Local Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. Monday. The Policy Committee meeting will immediately follow the regular board meeting that begins at 6 p.m. Meetings will be held in the Administration Office, 220 Sweetapple Road, Vincent.

¯ The Learning, Instruction and Assessment Committee of the Warren Local Board of Education will meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Warren High School cafeteria, 130 Warrior Drive, Vincent.

¯ Reno Water and Sewer District will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Reno Water Office Building, 170 Mount Tom Road. Public is welcome. Safe distancing will be practiced and masks are requested due to COVID.

¯ The Washington County Family & Children First Council Meeting will be held virtually at 1:30 p.m. May 19. Those wishing to participate virtually are asked to contact Cindy Davis at fcfc@suddenlinkmail.com or call 740-376-7081.

¯ Grandview Township will hold 2021 regular meetings at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the township hall. The following months will be held on different dates: July 6, and Sept. 13. These meetings will also be held at 6 p.m.

¯ Liberty Township will hold 2021 regular monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month.

¯ Decatur Township will hold its monthly public meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at the township building on Welch Road in Cutler.

¯ Ludlow Township will hold regular monthly meetings the last day of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall.

¯ The Shop Small/Shop Local event “May Madness” will be held during regular business hours Saturday in the Belpre, Marietta and Parkersburg, and St. Rt. 339 areas. For more information, call Belpre Area Chamber of Commerce at 740-423-8934.

¯ The Castle 2021 Season of Historic Marietta cemetery tours will begin at 10 a.m. and noon Saturday with “Align on the Colors! Stories of the Civil War” of Oak Grove Cemetery located at 8th and Washington Streets. CDC and Ohio Department of Health guidelines will be followed. Reservations required via online registration and payment by calling 740-373-4180. ¯ The Castle will hold the cemetery tour “Align on the Colors! Stories of the Civil War” at 10 a.m. and noon Saturday. Tour begins at Oak Grove Cemetery at Eighth and Washington, Marietta. The cost is $10. For more information, visit mariettacastle.org.

¯ A rabies shot clinic for dogs and cats will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Washington County Health Dept., 342 Muskingum Drive, Marietta. The cost is $10 per animal. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers. All animals must be at least 12 weeks old. Social distancing and masks required.

¯ The Parkersburg Coin Club is hosting its 55th Annual Spring Coin Show from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Lion’s Club in Boaz, 315 Valley Manor Lane; signs will be posted. Dealers will be available to buy, sell and trade coins and precious metals. Admission is $1. Pandemic protocols will be observed.
