Meetings

¯ The Washington State Community College Board of Trustees will hold its monthly meeting at 4 p.m. today in the Community Room of the Main Building.

¯ The November Senior Club Meeting and Luncheon date has been changed. It will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. A boxed lunch will be provided. Call the O’Neill Center at 740-373-3914 to reserve your place for the meeting.

¯ The Learning, Instruction and Assessment Committee of the Warren Local Board of Education will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Warren Middle School, 70 Warrior Drive, Vincent.

¯ The Fiscal Year 2022 (Round 16) committee meeting of the Natural Resources Assistance Council will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 1400 Pike St., Marietta, to rate and rank the Fiscal Year 2022 (Round 16) application submissions. ¯ The Operations Committee of the Warren Local Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. Nov. 22. The Regular Meeting will take place at 6 p.m. the same day and the Policy Committee will immediately follow. All meetings will take place at Warren High School, Room 1710/1711, 130 Warrior Drive, Vincent.

¯ Ludlow Township will hold regular monthly meetings the last day of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall.

¯ Mid-Ohio Valley Citizens Action Coalition will meet the second and fourth Mondays of each month at Freedom Gate Church, Tennis Center Road, Marietta. See the organization’s website for more information.

¯ Marietta Friends of the Library will host a book sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Tuesday at the library annex, 617 Fifth St. A full bag of books may be purchased for $2 Tuesday. Guests are required to wear masks.

¯ Barlow Presbyterian Church is holding a homemade mincemeat sale. Prices are $10 per quart and $5 per pint. For more information, call 740-350-0274. The church is located at the intersection of SR 550 and Warrior Drive in Barlow.

¯ A Hoe Down Square Dance, Line Dance & Round Dance will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Ronnie W. Davis Memorial VFW Post #5108, 319 Pike St., Marietta featuring 4 Hits & A Miss Country Band. Cover charge is $4. Hot roast beef sandwiches with mashed potatoes and green beans available for $8 from 5-6:30 p.m. Public welcome.

¯ The Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington County will hold an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday to celebrate the opening of its new gymnasium and building renovations. The open house will be held at 5 p.m. and the ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

¯ The Children’s Home Society of WV Transitional Living Program will hold a Shine A Light Walk and food drive from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at City Park for National Runaway Prevention Month. Non-perishable food donations will be collected and distributed to youth in the SOAR Transitional Living Program.

¯ The Marietta Band Booster 28th Annual Craft Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Washington Co. Fairgrounds in the Junior Fair Building. The event will include a country store, a bake sale, concessions and vendors with unique and handmade holiday gifts. Admission is $3.

¯ The Marietta First Church of the Nazarene at 100 Millcreek Road will host its Annual Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. The event will include a bake sale, concession stand and crafters. Proceeds benefit children with special needs ministry. For more information, call 740-374-3708.

¯ The Castle will host Night at the Museum from 6:30-8 p.m. Saturday. Tours begin every 15 minutes and will include the opportunity to meet individuals from Washington County’s past. The cost is $10 for adults; $7 for kids (age 13 and under); ages 5 and under are free. To register, visit mariettacastle.org/events.

¯ The 7th annual craft show to help support Newport Fire Department will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 27 at the fire station community building. Crafters, company vendors, country store, and food will be served by the fire department.

¯ The Belpre Holiday Lights Parade is accepting entries for the annual event scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 27. Applications can be found at Belpre City Building, 715 Park Drive; Belpre Area Chamber of Commerce, 713 Park Drive; Belpre Lions Club Building, 2113 Murray St.; or belprechamber.com under the Community tab. ¯ The Washington County Republican Party will host a Mingle and Jingle Christmas Party from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 3 at Republican Headquarters, 282 Front St., Marietta. The event will include wine, beer, appetizers, music and special guest Frank LaRose, Ohio Secretary of State, will be in attendance. Tickets are $20 per person or $30 per couple. ¯ First Congregational Church United Church of Christ (318 Front St. in Marietta) will continue its weekly free breakfast as take-out from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Saturday. All are welcome.
