¯ The Mid Ohio Valley Beekeepers’ Association will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Lions Club, 315 Valley Manor Lane in Boaz. Topics for the evening will be “Moisture in the hive due to temperature fluctuations” and “Feeding those hungry bees”.

¯ Putnam Community Water Corporation will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. today at the office of the Water Department (upstairs floor of the red brick building) at 920 River Road in Devola, next to the EMCA swimming pool. ¯ The date and location of the regular January meeting of the Fort Frye Board of Education has been changed to 6 p.m. Friday at Lowell Elementary School, 305 Market Street.

¯ Area 15 Workforce Development Board Members from Monroe, Morgan, Noble and Washington Counties will hold a meeting from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 7 at Lori’s Restaurant, 17020 McConnelsville Road, Caldwell. The Boards of County Commissioners from Monroe, Morgan, Noble, and Washington Counties will hold an Area 15 Council of Governments Meeting at noon. Agenda will be available at omj15.com/our-boards.

¯ Reno Area Water and Sewer District will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 15 in the Reno Water Office Building, 170 Mount Tom Road. Public welcome. Safe distancing will be practiced and masks are requested because of COVID.

¯ The Belpre Township Trustees will hold regular scheduled meetings the first Monday of every month at 335 Baker Road, Little Hocking. These meetings are open to the public. For more information, contact the Trustees at the township office, 740-423-6366.

¯ Grandview Township will hold regular meetings at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the township hall. There are three exceptions: February, July and September meetings will be held Feb. 14, July 11 and Sept. 12.

¯ Muskingum Township will hold regular meetings at 7 p.m. the first Monday of each month with these exceptions: Wednesday, March 2; Wednesday, July 6; and Tuesday, Sept. 6. Odd month meetings are held at the townhall and even month meetings are held at the Oak Grove Fire Department.

¯ Palmer Township will hold meetings at 7 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the Palmer Community Building, 7153 SR 676. There are two exceptions: July and September meetings will be held July 7 and Sept. 8. Year-end meeting TBA.

¯ The Marietta High School Class of 1955 will hold meetings at 11:30 a.m. the second Monday of each month at the Harmar Tavern, 205 Maple St. All classmates and friends welcome.

¯ Liberty Township will hold regular monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month.

¯ Warren Township Trustees will hold meetings at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month at the Township office, 95 Coffman Road, Marietta.

¯ Decatur Township will hold its monthly public meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at the township building on Welch Road in Cutler.

¯ Waterford Township Board of Trustees will meet in regular session at 7:30 p.m. the first Thursday of every month in 2022 at the township building.

¯ Lawrence Township will meet at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at the Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department.

¯ The Washington County Joint Vocational School District Board of Education will hold regular monthly meetings for 2022 at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month in the Annex Building Board Room. The June meeting will be held June 9 and/or 27, and the July date is TBD.

¯ Ludlow Township will hold regular monthly meetings the last day of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall.

¯ Mid-Ohio Valley Citizens Action Coalition will meet the second and fourth Mondays of each month at Freedom Gate Church, Tennis Center Road, Marietta. See the organization’s website for more information.

¯ Watertown Township Board of Trustees will hold their regular monthly meetings in 2022 at 6:30 p.m. the second Monday of each month at the Watertown VFD.

Events

¯ First Presbyterian Church at 501 Fourth St. in Marietta will hold a drive-thru free community meal from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today. Enter the church parking lot off of Wooster Street.

¯ Congressman Tim Ryan, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate will visit Marietta from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. today to meet with citizens at Democratic Headquarters, 227 Putnam St. to hear their concerns and share ideas. Attendees are asked to be vaccinated and wear masks.

¯ VFW Post #5108 at 319 Pike St. in Marietta will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. The cost is $10 per person. For more information and carry-out orders, call 740-374-9038.

¯ Beverly American Legion Post 389 will host a public steak fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Post Home, 114 5th St., Beverly. The cost is $15 and includes steak, a baked potato, salad and a roll. Music to follow by Aftershock.

¯ The Veritas Classical Academy will hold a conference on the topic of “Classical Education in the Modern Time” Feb. 4 at the Academy, 115 Victory Place, Marietta. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast and speakers will present throughout the day. Lunch will be provided and the conference will end at 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. To register, call 740-885-2033.

¯ Matamoras #374, Free and Accepted Masons will hold a community breakfast buffet from 8 to 11 a.m. Feb. 5 at 301 Main St. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, hash browns, biscuits, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, orange juice and coffee. Public is invited to attend. Carry-out available. Suggested donation is $7 per person. Profits benefit Grand Lodge of Ohio Charitable Foundation, the Ohio Masonic Home and local charities.

¯ The annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw contest will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 6 at St. Mary Catholic School in Marietta. The competition is open to males and females ages 9-14 (age as of Jan. 1). ¯ The River City Runners and Walkers Club and the Deitzler Foundation will host ultramarathon runner Charlie Engle at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at First Presbyterian Church of Parkersburg, 1341 Juliana St. Engle will share his story of running across more than 40 countries, the Sahara Desert and the Amazon Rainforest. Cost is $14 at the door; RCRWC members free.

¯ The Knights of Columbus Council #4617 Winter Cash Drawing will be held Feb. 12 at 17472 SR 676, Marietta. Tickets cost $50 each and include: cocktails 5 to 6 p.m., dinner 6 to 7:30 p.m., drawing 7:30 to 9 p.m., band 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. Grand prize is $4,000. For tickets, call Dean Brooker at 740-629-4884.

¯ The Zonta Club of the MOV is seeking nominations for its Woman of the Year Award presented at the Marietta Chamber of Commerce dinner March 7. ¯ The Cancer Kickers Relay for Life Team Quarter Auction will be held March 12 at Marietta VFW, 319 Pike Street. Vendors will be on site for shopping. First paddle is $5 and additional paddles are $3.

¯ The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley is holding its 300 Club Fundraiser. There will be a weekly drawing for $100 for 51 weeks, with a final drawing for $500. All winning tickets return to the drawing, so there are multiple chances to win. Each ticket is $50 and can be purchased at tinyurl.com/yckjm65e

¯ First Congregational Church United Church of Christ (318 Front St. in Marietta) will continue its weekly free breakfast as take-out from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Saturday. All are welcome.

¯ Gilman UMC will hold Sunday School for K-12 from 9:15-10:15 a.m. the first Sunday of each month. Parents are welcome to join the adult class which meets in the lounge or join Coffee Time for light refreshments and to meet the congregation. Face masks mandatory. for children and parents.

¯ The Castle will hold a Virtual All Ages History Camp for four weeks Jan. 31 through Feb. 25. Each week will feature two classes with bonus classes offered some weeks. Register for individual activities or the entire camp. For registration and more information, visit mariettacastle.org/events.

¯ The O’Neill Center will host a Photography Club with a monthly challenge. The next club meeting will be held at 10 a.m. March 1. Each month participants receive Photo Challenge Cards with ideas for photos to take each day of the month. Photos are shared the following month. ¯ The O’Neill Center in Marietta will host Bingo at 9:30 a.m. Thursday mornings. Doors open at 8 a.m. There is no cost at the door to play 20 games, and it is a nickel per card per game. Seating is limited.

¯ The O’Neill Center will host a Tech Lab with a Marietta College student from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Fridays to answer questions about new phones, tablets, computers and social media. Space is limited; call 740-373-3914 for availability.

¯ Hidden Marietta will host an Anchorage Mansion Tour at 6 p.m. Fridays and noon, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturdays.
