Sanitary sewer repair today on Spring St.

The Marietta Wastewater Department will be making a sanitary sewer repair in front of 107 East Spring St. today, weather permitting. There will be no parking on either side of the street and through traffic will be limited to allow access of equipment and material. Signs will be posted. The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday evening, however they may extend into the following week. Please avoid the area if possible, Please drive with caution.

Board of Elections will close for holiday

The Washington County Board of Elections will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving. The office will re-open at 8 a.m. Nov. 27.

Belpre Board of Ed. will meet today

The Belpre City Schools Board of Education will hold its regular board meeting at 7 p.m. today at the Stone Administration Building/Early Learning Center.

Beverly-Waterford Christmas parade

The Muskingum Valley Beverly-Waterford Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Waterford High School. The parade will end at Dodge Park with a lighting ceremony to follow. There will be refreshments by the Beverly Lions Club and entertainment. The parade begins forming at 4:30 p.m. at the high school.

Betsey Mills holiday tea taking reservations

The Betsey Mills Club will host its annual Holiday Doll Tea Party on from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 9. The event is open to ages 6-12. Theme will be winter wonderland with cookies, tea and cocoa and other treats, as well as crafts, music and story time. Space is limited, so please call to make your reservation today. Cost is $25 per person ($20 for members).

Community lunch at Beverly UM church

The Beverly United Methodist Church will have its community lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The church is located at 700 Park St. in Beverly. It is handicapped accessible. The menu is turkey or ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, dessert from Lisa’s Sweet Stop and a beverage. Call ahead for carryout at 740-984-2100.
