The Washington County Board of Elections will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving Day. The office will re-open at 8 a.m. Monday.

The board will meet at 8 a.m. Monday to conduct the official canvass for the Nov. 6 General Election and any other business that comes before the board.

Norwood United Methodist Church will be serving Thanksgiving Dinner from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday. No reservations needed. Volunteers will also be delivering meals but there will not be take-out meals this year. There is a limit of six meals per household for deliveries. Anyone needing meals delivered can call the church at 740-374-5606 today or Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help set up the kitchen on Wednesday can show up from 3 to 6 p.m. Anyone who would like to help deliver meals, please be at the church at 9:30 a.m. Thanksgiving morning. All other help should be at the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The third annual Devola Turkey Trot will be held Thanksgiving morning in Devola. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. at the park at 820 River Road, by the Devola Pool. The 5K run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. and wind through the Devola community.

The cost is $5 per person and $10 for a family. Registration can be completed the day of the event or through Paypal at devolarec.com. All proceeds will be used for the recreational facilities and programs in Devola, which are managed through the East Muskingum Civic Association (EMCA).

Commemorative T-shirts will be available for purchase the day of the race. Additionally, raffle tickets for a Devola Summer Pool Pass will be available for $5 each.

The Warren Township Board of Trustees meeting for Monday has been canceled. The next regular meeting will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 10. The 2018 Year End Meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Dec. 28 with the 2019 Organizational Meeting immediately following.

The Cutler Ladies Aid society will host their annual Hunting Season Luncheon at the Cutler Community Center, 4550 Two Mile Run Road, Cutler. Lunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily from Monday through Dec. 1. The menu will include homemade soups, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, desserts and drinks, plus daily specials.
