Marietta Township School reunion May 18

The Marietta Township School Reunion will be held at noon May 18 in the Marietta Township Community Building in Reno for former students of Sand Hill, Reno, Goose Run, Jennings Hill, Cornerville, Barker and Yankeeburg schools. Meat, coffee, tea and table service will be provided. Guests are asked to bring a covered dish to share as well as school and community memorabilia.

Safety Council will

discuss workers’ comp

The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 17. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon. The topic will be “Top Five Critical Items to Successfully Manage Your BWC Policy” with featured speaker Scott St. Clair, Regional Business Consultant, Ohio BWC. April is the yearly awards banquet; register extra guests ahead of time for a proper head count. Cost is $15 for Safety Council members (includes lunch).

Professional Women’s Roundtable April 24

The Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Professional Women’s Roundtable meeting on April 24 at da Vinci’s, 215 Highland Ave., Williamstown, from noon to 1 p.m. The topic for the month will be “LinkedIn” with featured speaker Kristen Meeks, WV Social Media. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for the general public; includes lunch. Memoir Writing

Workshop on April 20

Memoir Writing Workshop III: People and Places That Matter will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on April 20 at Dover House, 158 Main St., McConnelsville. This informal and interactive workshop continues the series for both previous participants and first-timers. Workshop presenter and retired Fort Frye teacher Lois Spencer has deep Morgan County roots as evidenced in her own memoir, “In the Language of My Country.” A $5 donation to Morgan County Community of the Arts is appreciated.
