Macksburg United Methodist Church will host a baked steak or pork dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Dinner includes meat, noodles, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, coleslaw and a roll. Pork dinner includes dressing, steak dinner includes noodles. The meal is eat-in or carryout.
St. Mary’s of Fulda will hold the annual Spring Fling Dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 28. The menu will include chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, noodles, rolls and dessert. Bingo will be from 1 to 3 p.m. and a raffle drawing will be held at 3 p.m. The public is invited to attend. St. Mary’s is located seven miles east of Caldwell, off of Ohio 564 on Fulda Road.
Beverly American Legion Post 389 on Fifth St. in Beverly will host an all-you-can-eat Lenten fish fry on April 12 from 5-7 p.m.from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. For $8, the menu features deep-fried or baked fish, fries and coleslaw. There will be music to follow by Tyler Welch from 7 to 10 p.m. The public is welcome.
The Marvin Hanger Farm was chosen as the site for making of “Mister Stitches,” a film about a 1937 robbery in Cairo, W.Va. At 7 p.m. Thursday the film will be shown in the lower level of the Barlow Library by the Western Washington County Historical Society. Mr. Hanger will be present afterward to discuss the shooting of the film on his property. The public is invited to attend.
The MOVP Youth Intro to Theater Workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon May 4. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Free and one day only, the workshop is geared toward youth ages 8-16 who are new to the theater or want to brush up on basic skills. Parents are invited to observe from the audience. Junior theater auditions will be held June.
Hope Bible Church will host the Easter “Egg”stravaganza on April 21 featuring a community BBQ, Easter egg hunt with 1,000+ candy-filled eggs and free stuffed animals (while supplies last) for children under 10.
