The Ohio Society SAR Marietta Chapter Memorial Service for the Revolutionary War Patriots of the Northwest Territory will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mound Cemetery, Fifth and Scammel streets in Marietta. Marietta College President William N. Ruud will speak about the patriots of the Northwest Territory and a tour of Mound Cemetery will follow the service. Lunch will be provided by the Marietta Chapter SAR and Olive Garden at The Marietta College Legacy Library, 215 Fifth Street.

The Ohio River Sternwheel Festival will host its 10th annual Ohio River Sternwheel Festival 5K Run and Walk Saturday at East Muskingum Park in Marietta. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. through 7:30 a.m. the day of the race. The registration fee is $20. The race will begin at 8 a.m.

The date of the regular May meeting of the Fort Frye Local Schools Board of Education has been changed to 6 p.m. Thursday at Beverly-Center Elementary School.

The Washington County Fair Cookout and Gun Raffle will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. June 1 featuring pulled pork or chicken dinners, a silent auction, a gun raffle and live entertainment. The cost is $10 for adults or $5 for children ages 10 and under.

The Marietta Township Trustees regular meeting date for June has been changed to June 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Marietta Township Recreation Center in Reno. All meetings are open to the public.

West Virginia Division of Highways announces Lumos/Segra communication conduits will be installed on the Williamstown Bridge at milepost 18.9 beginning May 29. Crews will be working between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. The anticipated completion date is July 3. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the work schedule.
