The Barlow-Vincent annual alumni banquet will be held June 8 at Lighthouse Baptist Church on Ohio 339 in Barlow. The O’Neill Center will host a self-defense seminar from 1 to 3 p.m. and again from 5 to7 p.m. June 4 The seminar will be led by Russ Tuten and will expose various low or no-cost methods that one can use to ensure their personal protection in both public and private environments. The class is free for seniors ages 50 and up, paid for by a grant through the Marietta Noon Rotary Club. For guests under age 50, there is a $10 fee. Parr Hill Community Church will host its annual spring picnic on June 2 at 4 p.m. featuring food, fellowship and entertainment. The church is located on Ohio 7 in Beavertown. Turn on Parr Hill Road and the church is at the top of the hill.

Beverly United Methodist Women will host a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 7. A “bag” sale will start at 3 p.m. The church is located at 700 Park St. in Beverly and is handicapped accessible.
