There will be a special meeting of the Washington County Board of Health at 5:30 p.m. today at the health department, 342 Muskingum Drive. The purpose is to discuss pending legislation, granting a “Designee” authority to sign documents that would normally be signed by a health commissioner and to discuss and act on a public records request by The Marietta Times.

The Wolf Creek Local Schools Board of Education will hold its regular July meeting at 7:30 p.m. July 29 in the high school library.

Adams Township residents who want to pay for dust control in front of their home are asked to call 740-896-2370 and leave a name and phone number, or to contact a trustee. Payment will be made by homeowners directly to the contractor at the time the work is completed.

Masterton Lodge #429 Men’s Club will host a pancake breakfast in the Lower Salem Community Building on July 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu will include pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, toast and drinks. All proceeds benefit local charities.

Boy Scout Troop 216 of Warren Township will host a 50-year celebration and reunion at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Inman Park, located behind Warren Volunteer Fire Department on State Route 550 and Coffman in Marietta. All present and past members, leaders and friends are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be provided by current Troop 216 members.
