Wendy’s Restaurant on Pike Street in Marietta will host Members of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 52 for a local fundraiser from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 19. Wendy’s will donate a percentage of each sale to the support of the work of DAV in the county. Officers and members will be on hand to provide information to interested veterans and families regarding the many types of assistance available from the organization, in addition to the Veterans Administration, State Veterans Services and Washington County VSO and other local resources.

A special Marietta City Schools board meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The purpose is to discuss moving from ELLP funding with OFCC to CFAP.

Jean Lamb of Cedar Grove, W. Va. will tell of her experiences in the White House under seven presidents when she meets with the Western Washington County Historical Society at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Barlow Library branch of Washington County Public Library. The public is invited to attend all programs provided on the second Thursday of each month.

The Cutler Community Center Third Sunday Dinner will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Cutler Community Center, 4550 Two Mile Run Road. The meal will include an entree, two sides, a drink and dessert. Meals are $7 for adults or $4 for children. All proceeds benefit the Cutler Community Center.

Beverly American Legion Post 389 will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the post home on Fifth Street in Beverly. The menu will include fish deep-fried or baked, fries and coleslaw for $8. There will be music by Sam Clark from 7 to 10 p.m. The public is welcome.
