Peoples Bank Theatre will host the annual tree auction and holiday gala, “Oh, Christmas Tree!” Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with an auction preview and cocktail hour beginning at 6:30 p.m. Admission for the auction and gala is $25 per person, or $400 per table of eight. Marietta College’s Department of Music will host the 93rd annual George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah” on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption. The concert, which is free and open to the public, features the College’s Oratorio Chorus and a professional orchestra and soloists.

Barlow Presbyterian Church will host a community luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. The menu will include six different casseroles, rolls, salad and miscellaneous desserts. Barlow Presbyterian Church is located at Ohio 550 and Warrior Drive.
The Washington County Historical Society will host a special holiday event from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Anchorage, 424 George St., Marietta. There will be an open house and bake sale fundraiser, with select rooms on the first floor decorated and available to tour for free; tours of the second floor and attic, including the tower, will be available for a $5 donation. A tower star lighting ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. Proceeds to benefit the Anchorage restoration.
