The date and location of the regular January meeting of the Fort Frye Board of Education has been changed to 6 p.m. Thursday at Fort Frye High School, Cadet College and Career Center.
Volunteers for the annual Christmas Day Feast are encouraged to attend a review and planning meeting to begin preparations for the 2020 event. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the host church, Marietta First Presbyterian, 501 Fourth St. Those attending will look back at last year’s dine-in, delivery, carry-out and transportation of guests to look at possible ways to make improvements.

Marietta FFA Alumni will hold a benefit for Kenadee Antill on Feb. 1 in the Washington County Junior Fair Building. Doors open at 6 p.m. and there will be a square dance from 8 to 11 p.m. The cost is $5 per person or $8 per couple. There will be a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, concessions, cake walk, country store and entertainment from the Buckeye Travelers. Kenadee is a 3-year-old from Vincent who was recently diagnosed with Wilms Tumor cancer. The benefit will help with the family expenses as she is being treated at Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Washington County Public Library, 615 Fifth St., in the lower level meeting room. No speaker is planned and members are encouraged to bring family research experiences or items significant to their family history. Visitors are always welcome at the meetings and free parking is available on the street and in the adjacent parking lot. The facility is handicapped accessible.
