Marietta and Beyond will present Try This First, a series of free talks by local health practitioners who will present non-prescription health building tips, on the first and third Saturdays through the month of May at the First Presbyterian Church on Fourth Street in Marietta. The next session will be held Saturday. A free healthy meal will be provided at 12:30 p.m. and Dr. David Norris will discuss Type 2 Diabetes at 1 p.m. Sign Language Interpreter April Garvey will interpret at the event. Pleasants County Humane Society will present the 2020 Critter Bash Feb. 29 from 7 p.m. to midnight at American Legion Post #159, Williamstown. Admission is $15 per person or $25 per couple. Tickets can be purchased from We Lov Pets, Putnam Chocolate, Norwood Tavern, American Legion #159 and Galaxy Foods. Raffle tickets will be available for a “happy wagon,” cash, and other items. Music provided by Loose as it Gets. Donations of non-perishable items are appreciated.

Barlow Presbyterian Church will host a community luncheon from 11 a.m. to12:30 p.m. Wednesday. The menu will include casseroles, salad, rolls and miscellaneous desserts. Barlow Presbyterian Church is located at Warrior Drive and Ohio 550.

The Barlow Volunteer Fire Department will host a Texas Holdem Tournament Feb. 22. Sign-ins begin at 5 p.m. and the tournament starts at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be available.

Ag Night 2020 will be held Feb. 20 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Career Center, Adult Technical Training in Marietta. The free program is designed to offer various topics of interest to those involved in any aspect of agriculture. All are welcome to attend, no reservation is required. The program is sponsored by Adult Technical Training at The Career Center and The Ohio State University Extension.
