The First Congregational United Church of Christ will continue to offer a free take-out breakfast Saturdays from 8:30 to 10 a.m. through the month of April. All are welcome to pick up a brown bag meal outside the church located at 318 Front St.

The Independence Township monthly April meeting has been canceled. If any residents of this township have questions or concerns, call Mike at 740-473-2569, Jedd at 740-336-3566 or Susan at 740-629-1569.

The Liberty Township April meeting has been canceled due to the current COVID-19 situation. The Liberty Township spring clean up scheduled for April 3 has also been canceled.

The pancake breakfast fundraiser scheduled for April 25 at the Marietta Applebee’s Restaurant is canceled as directed by Ohio State University Extension’s State 4-H Office during this time of unprecedented health concerns. Proceeds were to benefit the Washington County 4-H Shooting Sports Program.

The Marietta Wastewater Department will be making a sanitary sewer repair in front of 203 Oakwood Ave between Colegate Drive and Chestnut Street. Work will begin Wednesday at 8 a.m., weather permitting. Oakwood Avenue will be closed between Colegate Drive and Chestnut Street to allow for equipment and material access, the remainder will be open to local traffic only. There will be no parking on either side of Oakwood Avenue in front of 203 Oakwood Ave. Signs will be posted. The work is expected to be completed by Friday , however work may extend into the following week. Please avoid the area if possible.
