Beverly American Legion Post 389 at 114 Fifth St. will host a public steak fry May 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. Limited seating will be available, take-out is encouraged. For take-out orders call the post phone at 740-984-8709. A pick-up time will be given. Turn into the alley and go to the banquet room rear entrance for pick-up. The cost is $12 and the meal includes steak, a baked potato, salad and a roll.

The Southeast Ohio Public Energy Council (SOPEC) will host two public hearing times for residents to learn more about the SOPEC Electric Plan of Operation and Governance, which describes the objectives and goals of the SOPEC Electric Aggregation Program for the Village of Lowell. The Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department annual ice cream social has been canceled for 2020.

The eastbound lane (downhill) of Lancaster Street is closed until repairs can be made following a slip. The westbound lane (uphill) will remain open. Local traffic should use Pearl Street Extension. Truck traffic will be rerouted to Groves Avenue.

Officers of the Harrietsville Elk Local Alumni Association have postponed the banquet originally scheduled for June 20. It will be rescheduled for a later date yet to be determined. A letter will be sent out three weeks prior to the event. Alumni Association members are asked to spread the word.
